A new favorite
Colbie Caillat
Love her songs!!! I'm trying to figure out how to put music on my page. As soon as I do, you'll get to hear some of her songs. Some favorites are "Bubbly", "The little Things", "Feelings Show", and "Realize". Can't wait to get her CD for the drive to California.

Love the Rain!!
It is pouring right now and I love it! Tons of thunder too! For those of you who live where you get rain often this might not seem like such a big deal, but to us here in Arizona, it's the best!

A big dust storm rolled in first, then it started raining. I took this picture right outside our apartment before the down pour came. You can't really see the rain, but look how stormy it looks. You can see in the back how much the trees are blowing. Remember you can always click on the pictures to see them big.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Coby has taken over Mesa Softball and Volleyball!!!
A week ago, his city softball league became A LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!!!! They came first in their league and finished with a great game! They got bumped up to AA leauge for the next season. He can't get enough sports!
Last night his city volleyball league became CHAMPIONS! WHOO HOO! It was a great birthday present for him! The whole Madsen family came to watch and we had lots of fun.

It started out as a VERY hot event! As the night went on a storm rolled in and they ended up playing in a DOWN POUR!!! It was the first rain of the monsoon in the valley and it was a good one!

While they were waiting for their next game to start, they discovered that the pool was warmer than the pouring rain. The Madsen boys jumped in and had a freestyle race! Never a dull moment! In the picture it looks like they are all drowning, but I promise it really was a pretty good race.

Here's a picture of the family cheering on another team for playing in a pretty bad rain storm. This poor team was playing and then it just started to come down really hard. The family started the wave and everything! Once again... never a dull moment. We all had lots of fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COBY!!!
This past weekend, I took Coby on a surprise trip to Las Vegas for his birthday. We had a great time. We left after Coby got off work and headed up there. We stayed on the strip which was fun. We walked down most of the strip on Friday night and went out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse.

We mostly just walked around Friday night.
In our hotel bathroom it took me a minute to find the light switch. Whoever installed it, did so for a 3 year old. It was about 3 feet off the ground.

Saturday we walked through the rest of the strip, and went in quite a few of the hotels. Here's Coby in the ESPN zone. This would be his dream room to have every sports channel showing all the time.

This is in the M&M factory. This entire wall is every color of M&Ms.

We walked through the Coca Cola factory, Game works, the New York hotel, all over!
This picture was taken at the Mirage hotel.

The Bellagio changes the gardens in the hotel every season. They are so gorgeous! The theme right now was Route 66. The roses lined up were so beautiful. It was crazy how many there were; they made the room smell so good.

The Bellagio fountains are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of Vegas. They put these incredible fountains to music and it is beautiful. They didn't start until 8:00 at night, we missed them Friday, and I wanted to see them so we stayed to watch. We saw 3 shows and they were well worth it. Coby was a little skeptical of them before, but he was definitely impressed after the shows.

Then we went to dinner at StripBurger. It was so good and we had a lot of fun. Coby got a free mini chocolate cake for his birthday. We took some of the strawberries from the other cake and ate it with the chocolate one... it was delicious. It was a really fun little burger joint on the strip.

Coby gambeled a little bit before we left. His 26th birthday obviously was not his lucky number for gambeling. He didn't do so well, but it was still lots of fun.

We walked back to the Wynn where we were parked and Coby stopped to admire the showcased Ferraris.

We had a great weekend and a safe drive home. It's always nice to take a weekend off away from the everyday. We're excited for the beach in a couple weeks where hopefully we can get away from some of the heat.

4th of July
We had so much fun for the 4th of July. We went of to the Cabin with my parents, Uncle Tom and Aunt Jane, Jamie, Jack, Laura, Nikki, Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Mark. We first went to the little Munds Park parade. Anyone who decorates their car, bike, quad or anything can be in the parade. Coby loved it because every car throws candy at you. We left with about 2 plastic grocery bags full of candy!

Here were some of our favorite cars:

By how excited Coby was to get candy and by his cheering, Uncle Tom wanted to know if he'd ever been to a parade before. It was lots of fun, even though it was really hot outside. It was the hottest it has ever been at the Cabin for the 4th.
Jack and Jamie loved having coby there. Coby taught Jack some tricks for his rubex cube he got at a garage sale, pushed them on the hammock, and shot their BB guns with them. It was fun to get away for a day!

LOTS OF CATCHING UP!!!
June 29-30, Coby and I went up to Snow Flake, Arizona for Coby's Softball tournament. He is on a city league here in Mesa, but only half the team went. Some guys from Snow Flake made up the rest of the team.
It was lots of fun driving up with Coby's brother Trent. One of our friend's parents have a place up there so we stayed there with all the guys from Coby's Mesa team that went.
Friday night they played one game as a placement game, then they played ALL day Saturday. They came in 4th overall. It was kind of hard since they had never played with half of their team before, but they did great and we all had fun.

The guys were SO exhausted for their last game, none of them could walk. They looked like a bunch of old men gimping out to the field. It was pretty funny. I guess six games of softball in a weekend would do that to ya. We had so much fun with all of our friends there.
