Some Homemade Christmas

Awhile ago I posted about how I was trying to make a few gifts this year instead of buying.  Plus I love crafts and making things so I thought this would give me a few fun things to do.  Well, it was fun, but it turned out to be a lot more work than I thought... and well, it wasn't much cheaper.  Oh well!!!

I got the idea for these little people here (you have to scroll down to August 16th, for some reason I couldn't just go to that post).  Although I don't think mine are nearly as cute,
I decided to do some themed ones instead of regular people.

These were for my cute niece Peyton.  She was a princess for Halloween and still says she is a princess and sometimes needs a king to dance and play with.  Then I made a ballerina,
a pirate, and then some regular people.

Here is the cute princess with her king.  I don't have a picture of it, but the king did get a cute gold crown (made by Coby... his contribution was making a princess hat and a crown out of two wooden flower pots that I got).  Also, the princess got a pink dress that isn't pictured either.

Before the King got the crown, I think the ballerina was my favorite.  But then the king looked so cute in his crown... so now I like them all.

We are a pirate family, we had to have one of them.

And what do you get a nephew who is COMPLETELY obsessed with trains?
A train with his name.  This actually was pretty fun because we would spell more words with the letters from his name. (maybe I'll have to get him some more to practice his spelling)

In Coby's family, we draw names.  We got Coby's brother and his family.  They live on the East coast and are the only ones that aren't in Arizona.  So they wanted some pictures of the family so their 1 year old can learn who we all are.  I decided it would be fun to make an ABC book about the family!  Great idea right?  It's a lot more work than I thought that great idea would be at first.  But I'm glad I did it.... even if they did get it almost a month late.  Merry January you guys!!!  So here is the finished product.  You can make them bigger if you want.

The front and back covers were chipboard and I mod podged over them so if something spills on it, it gets wiped off and it's still fine.  The A B C was chipboard too, so they stuck out.

I love the ABC cook! I have seen a couple of people with those at church and wanted to make one for Maddie! I love it!

Ashley--

That book is adorable. I just might have to borrow the idea if you do not mind. Thanks for letting me know the pictures were up. Your blog is so cute.
